She was beautiful.

A last bastion of the ancient ingenuity of mankind, sitting down here, alone, while above the world drowned beneath the rule of an alien tyrant. She was huge, her white chassis easily dwarfing Dirk as he stood beneath her, and he was glad nobody was around to see the awestruck look on his face.

It took him weeks to get her running, long weeks of arduous work. The ancient technology here was beyond anything he’d ever seen, and, despite his readiness to dig in, to fix all that was broken, he forced himself to take it slowly lest he damage the systems further.

Eventually, though, after what seemed forever, she was fixed. All that remained was to turn her on.

As soon as power flooded her dormant chassis, she began to stir. The panels beneath his feet slid around as she regained control of the facility, and he grabbed the bar to stop himself from falling.

And then she was looking at him, her yellow optic startlingly bright.

“What are you doing here, I thought- Oh. You repaired me, didn’t you?”

She leaned her vast bulk closer, old joints creaking beneath her weight.

“Why would you do that?”

I rarely like the idea of any crossovers, but holy wow would this be perfect.  The convoluted mind games that would ensue here would be absolutely beautiful. <3

Gee whiz it’s like this guy time traveled to Right Now and went on the internet and asked what people think is funny.  Because the answer is bacon, for reasons I know not.

But since he won first prize I guess they were all hip to the future back in ‘94.  1894.
